The Rundown: Kara finds herself far from home protecting her cousin Kal from an unknown threat.

Kara Zor-El is living the life of a typical teenager in Kandor and meets her newborn baby cousin Kal when her aunt and uncle come to visit. Not everything on Kandor or Krypton is safe as political strife and more threaten the world.
After Kara has a good day at school, despite warnings of potential danger, she returns home to see a message from the planet’s leader that causes her parents and her aunt and uncle to panic and begin preparing her and her cousin Kal to leave the planet. A mission that will immediately take a dark turn when their ship is attacked causing them to crash on a nearby planet filled with dangerous creatures.
The Story: Parker and Sheridan create an intriguing and entertaining story in this first issue. I like seeing the story from Kara’s perspective and getting to see everything that she lost as she was immersed in the society of Krypton. I like that the story thrusts Kara and Kal together and the possibility of what will happen as they face the galaxy together. There is great potential throughout this first issue and I look forward to seeing where it goes.
The Art: Reis crafts some beautiful art throughout the issue. I really love the visual style and the character designs.
