The Rundown: Batman decides to give Gotham City a message from its Dark Knight.

After Batman and Robin blow up Wayne Manor, Vandal Savage sees the act as a victory and proceeds to spread his message across the media that he has beaten Batman and will have him and his family in custody soon. At the same time, Gotham’s newest threat sends a message to one it his associates that even people like Hugo Strange can be touched by his organization.

Bruce has an interesting meeting the board of his company and it inspires him to look at the city’s new threat in a different way. He also decides that Savage has been hogging the cameras and decides to show Gotham City in dramatic fashion that the Batman is not going anywhere.

The Story: In the wake of the darker parts of this arc, Fraction adds some much-needed levity, thrills and hope to this story as it creates some great moments for not only Batman, but also the members of his found family. I love the tone of this issue a lot and how engaging and entertaining it is seeing Bruce approach the new threats he faces in a different, more strategic manner. I love the buildup of moments towards the end of the issue and its connection to both Barbara and Batman themselves.

The Art: Jimenez crafts beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the look of this issue and how it captures and enhances the tone of the story.
