The Rundown: Monet makes a stand at Graymalkin prison and the X-Men learn the truth about the New Mutants.

The New Mutants are on the attack and manage to split the team at the same time Monet is confronting Mutant X and Ellis is making her escape. While Rogue deals with a rampaging Cannonball, Monet calls in backup from Quicksilver and another mutant with a connection to one of the trustees.
Monet fights for her life against the mind-controlled mutants while Mutina helps the Outliers learn the truth about who they are facing. A revelation that will lead the rest of the mutants to fight back and bring down the prison and its new murderous warden once and for all.
The Story: Simone crafts a thrilling, entertaining story in this issue. There is great action throughout the issue and I love the characters and how they interact with each other. The dynamic between Rogue and Monet is great and I really love the surprise return of one of my favorite under-utilized characters in this issue. There is great drama throughout the issue and the story ends with great possibility for what comes next and I am excited to see what that is.
The Art: Vecchio creates some great visual moments throughout the issue. The character scenes and pages showcasing the gathered characters themselves are some of my favorite visually.
