The Rundown: Marian faces off against the church hierarchy as they attempt to show her their power.

In the aftermath of an attack, Marian retreats to the convent with her sisters while her new ally unleashes her own power in the woods. After rescuing and nursing Brother Lamb back to health, he attempts to earn her trust by telling her that the gendarmes are coming and he will stand up for Marian, telling them that she rescued him.
Unfortunately, his words fall on deaf ears as the other cardinals attempt to punish Marian for her heresy. As she is tortured, she falls on her faith to protect her as rescue arrives and Marian is forced to fight her way free from the church before she is killed as a witch.
The Story: Howard continues to craft a thrilling, engaging and entertaining story in this issue. I continue to love the complicated characters and their dynamics as well as the compelling moral and philosophical issues related to faith. I love the world of this story and the action is amazing. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Jaro’s art is beautifully detailed and visually exciting throughout the issue. I love the art style and how it enhances and embraces the tone and style of the story.
