The Rundown: The last members of the crew fight to find a way to destroy the ship before it returns.
Jennifer and Sara are the last unchanged members of the crew of the Event Horizon and they have decided to prevent the ship from returning to regular space by destroying the gravity drive once and for all. At the same time, the dark entity who has taken control of the ship is having the drive repaired so it can return bringing it to a new world.
The pair deal with their own personal issues as they find and remove the charges they need before entering the area for a final confrontation. A confrontation that will see an end to the ship, but the not the end of its story as the man who designed it is visited by someone urging him to find the ship and bring it back.
The Story: Ward crafts a dark, thrilling adventure in this issue. I really like the pacing of the story as well as the resolution of Jennifer and Sara’s stories. I really like the tone and the immediacy of the action in this issue and how it beautifully serves as a prequel to the events of the movie with its epilogue connection.
The Art: Jones creates some beautifully dark and visually disturbing imagery throughout the issue. Everything is brilliantly detailed and horrific.
