The Rundown: Black Adam has been unleashed and Superman gets a potential ally.

A man named John Henry Irons is working at a slaughterhouse, but his past reveals that he was a formidable weapons developer until his life was upended by his former boss and current target Ras Al Ghul. In the present, John, Superman, Ras, Talia and Lois stand witness as the being known as Teth Adam has been freed from his prison and wants to know how long he has been held.

As Adam takes his battle to Superman, he manages to remove Kal from the field before turning his rage on Ras. In the aftermath, Superman and Adam fight above the city and John decides to do what he can to help. As the battle shifts to a remote location, another hero joins the fight, but they might not stand a chance against the raging Adam.

The Story: Aaron delivers thrilling action and adventure throughout the issue. I love the dark tone of the story and the buildup of tension and suspense throughout the story as Superman faces off against Adam. I also really love the Ras Al Ghul storyline and how his desire for redemption pays off in this darker world. I also really love the introduction of John in the story and what it means for the plot going forward.

The Art: Sandoval crafts beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the character designs a lot.
