The Rundown: A tragedy will lead to a new threat to Batman and his mission.

Outside the city, a man emerges from the fields and gives a display of an unusual power on two unsuspecting men who apparently have a history. Back in the city, Batman has taken a new tact in dealing with crime and has fully turned over to the persona of Batman even as his friend Waylon tries to remind him of the mission they agreed on.
As he continues to think of the past and his dealings with Falcone, he is summoned to a meeting with Gordon who seems to be dealing with an unusual fear. A fear that will cost him his life and implicate Batman. An act that will cause the city to turn to Slade Wilson and his newest soldiers, the Robins.
The Story: Snyder crafts a thrilling, dark and engaging story in this issue. I continue to love the buildup of suspense in this series and this arc takes some dark and unexpected turns that enhance the drama and make the story more compelling as a fan of the characters and the world being created in this series. I love the direction this story is taking and look forward to seeing what Snyder has in store for both the Batman and this new Robin initiative.
The Art: Dragotta delivers beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the character designs a lot.
