The Rundown: One rescue mission succeeds, one takes a complicated turn and two mutants make things worse for everyone.

Psylocke and Xorn find the location Greycrow is being kept and successfully find a way to rescue him. As they continue their escape, Greycrow agrees to help the pair find the rest of the team as the people running the Danger Room believe the X-Men have been defeated. At the same time, Kid Omega and Temper have gone into town demanding that the people reveal who shot and almost killed Glob.

Hank wakes up from a dream and goes to tell Scott about it only to discover that he is still within it as mutated versions of his team attack him. As Beast fights for his life, he discovers something about the entity that has trapped them. Something that could hold the key to their escape.

The Story: MacKay crafts a thrilling story in this issue. There is a great level of tension throughout the story from Psylocke and Greycrow’s relationship to the mounting tension in the town as two powerful mutants descend on them out of grief and anger. I like the subtlety of the story a lot and look forward to seeing what happens with all three of these plots and where that resolution leaves the team at the end.

The Art: Diaz delivers some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. The action is thrilling and the character moments are vibrant and engaging.
