The Rundown: The King Omega has been chosen and the final battle against Darkseid begins.

Lex Luthor has one the final battle and prepares to take his place as King Omega and remake the universe in his own image. First, he must use his new power to take down Darkseid who is ready for the fight. At the same time, Doomsday has pulled Superman back into a single moment in time and given him a final chance to finish the fight and take the power himself.

Superman emerges filled with a new power and ends Lex’s short reign before taking on Darkseid for the fate of the universe. Tempted by the power, Superman brings Darkseid through time and space during their battle until he makes a final move that will change the outcome of the battle and forge a new universe with his power.

The Story: Snyder and Williamson bring this story to a brilliantly engaging and compelling conclusion. There is intense action and thrills throughout the story and I loved every twist and turn within it. This is a huge story but it never feels overwhelming. It feels like the culmination of everything Superman stands for and I love how the writers get him as a character both in mannerism and purpose. The story has a great buildup of action and ends with moments of both heart and mystery as something is teased at the end that has me excited.

The Art: All of the artists bring beautifully detailed and visually stunning art throughout the issue. I love the various visual styles and how each one complements the story and the characters.
