The Rundown: Cora discovers she cannot escape the will of God even with her own death.

Cora has been killed by her on and lies on the floor of their home until the angel tasked with sending her on her journey resurrects her to teach her that her life belongs to God and she has not completed her task of killing her son. The angel reminds her of the circumstances that brought her son to life and how she dare not defy them again.

The angel is confronted by Jordy near the lake where he tells the young man the truth about his existence and the end of his own. The angel returns to Cora to tell her why it is so important that Jordy die as she sees the local church begin to worship Jordy and the violence coming from their new faith.

The Story: Doyle crafts a dark, entertaining story in this issue. The story has some great character moments and I love the differing conversations between the angel and both Cora and Jordy. Those conversations are setting the characters on an interesting path and I look forward to seeing where that path leads.

The Art: Estherren creates beautifully dark and visually engaging art throughout the issue. The art is perfect for the style and tone of this story.
