The Rundown: A group of women on the run find themselves on a mysterious and dangerous island.

A group of young women find themselves in a Hong Kong restaurant in 1987. As they meet and get to know each other, they are finally greeted by the man who hired them, Olmsted and a woman named Vanessa. After a few drinks and food, the women wake up in a cargo container being airlifted across the ocean.
After the container lands, the ladies find themselves surrounded by armed men and a woman named Sorinah who brings them to an opulent mansion filled with other women. As Sorinah shows them her violent nature, one of the women lashes out at Vanessa wanting answers.
The Story: Kindlon creates an interesting story in this first issue. I can kind of see where the premise of this story is going and it definitely has throwback vibes to 70’s exploitation movies and Russ Meyer films. I’m just not sure if the aesthetic will be enough to sustain the story.
The Art: EPHK delivers some fun, sexy and entertaining visuals throughout the issue. I really like the character designs and the dramatic camera angles in many of the panels and pages.
