The Rundown: Lucky begins to exude more control as Gigi hides a secret.
After letting in the bad kind, Lucky is the new power within Pet City. Unbeknownst to the rest of the cats, humans discover something strange about their new sanctuary. Lucky decides to consolidate his power after leaving Gigi and discovers that they are running low on food. A revelation that will also reveal Lucky is not above turning back to Mother Helena’s old way of feeding the others.
After tracking down Lord, he puts him to work getting the other Pet City cats in line to clean up the store while he cozies up to Chloe, antagonizes the kittens and threatens Niko. As Lucky continues his plans for the story, he is confronted by Gigi and when he leaves Elsie arrives to discover the reason Gigi refuses to leaves with her.
The Story: Fleecs creates some great drama and tension throughout this issue. The story is taking some interesting and dark turns with Lucky exerting control on everyone and everything around him and the manipulation is creating some great moments for the characters. The power he now has is absolutely corrupting him, but it is also showcasing his own issues that were hinted at throughout the series. I really love the direction this story is going and cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Forstner and Rodriguez create some beautiful art in the issue. I love how dark the tone of the art is becoming in relation to the tone of the story.
