The Rundown: Matt Murdock starts a new career but his life as Daredevil will clash with what he’s trying to build.

Matt Murdock has taken on a new position as a law professor at ESU while also keeping the streets safe as Daredevil. His new life as a professor seems to suit him, but it is not without challenges as he discovers that his appointment might have some strings attached from someone mysterious.
At the same time, there is a new killer in Hell’s Kitchen and their latest victim gets the attention of a new detective on the force. After another night as Daredevil, Matt returns to his apartment to discover that he is not alone and that the mystery person there has an ominous message for Matt Murdock.
The Story: Phillips crafts a thrilling, engaging and entertaining story in this first issue. It lays the foundation for some interesting stories both big and small for Daredevil with the serial killer, his unknown benefactor and the mystery man and his mystery message. Phillips locked me in with these breadcrumbs and I am interested in seeing not only where they lead, but what they mean for the character.
The Art: Garbett delivers beautifully dark and detailed art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the issue and the contrast in imagery between the world of Matt Murdock and that of Daredevil.
