The Rundown: Two enemies solidify power in the city as Batman seeks advice.

The witness finds himself being escorted home and learning a lesson in good versus evil as things in the city continue to become tense. At the same time, Savage is summoned to meet with Mayor Isley aka Poison Ivy and the two discuss the Bat issue as well as a proposal that the former Mayor refused to implement to bring the vigilante down.
In the city, a man is almost mugged until he reveals himself to be Alan Scott and Batman emerges to meet with him because of his history with Vandal Savage. The pair discuss the Savage problem and Batman gets some much-needed insight into the man before he leaves to plan and Scott discovers that the Mayor and the Police Commissioner are moving forward with their plan to bring down Batman.
The Story: Fraction continues to craft a dark, engaging and interesting story for Batman in this issue. I love the intrigue in this story and Batman’s decision to humble himself both for the people of the city, but also for Alan Scott. It shows a growth in the character and showcases how interesting and layered Scott is as a character when he challenges Batman during their conversation. I am really enjoying the machinations of Savage and Ivy and cannot wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Sook creates some beautifully detailed art throughout the story. The imagery brilliantly captures the mood and tone of the story as well as the city itself.
