The Rundown: A new threat emerges as Superman races to stop Lois from killing someone.

Ras Al Ghul has been released from prison by his daughter Talia and Lois is on the hunt for both of them. In the past, a young boy seeks out power to fight back against the tyranny he lives under and finds himself in the presence of Brainiac who uses him to create a weapon.

Back in the present, Superman is on the farm when he realizes that Lois is going to do something she can’t come back from. As Ras and Talia break into a facility to regain something they need, Lois attacks and is stopped by Superman. As Superman defends her, he is attacked and Ras is worried that something they buried a long time ago emerges seeking revenge.

The Story: Aaron continues to craft a thrilling, compelling and entertaining story in this issue. There is a great dark tone to the story and I really love the framing device used in the story to tease the new threat to Superman and its connection to Brainiac and the past of this world. I love the focus on Lois and her revenge mission in this story as well as how the story continues to flesh out Ras and who he is becoming in the wake of his escape. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next issue after the stunning cliffhanger.

The Art: Sandoval creates beautiful art throughout the issue. Everything from the characters to the action looks amazing.
