The Rundown: Tony gets a visit from an old friend who wants to know what he’s planning.

Tony is still trying to live his life in the aftermath of his battle with AIM, but it is becoming difficult. He receives a call from Rhodey who wants to see him and the two prepare to meet at his new desert base. After introducing him to the people he rescued who are now learning from him, the pair have to armor up when one of their experiments goes wrong.
As Iron Man and War Machine battle a metal menace in the desert, AIM continues to rebuild with their new leader Adam Ware. As Ware prepares to consolidate power and bring the factions under his control, he decides to send an old foe of Tony’s to keep him distracted as he begins the next phase of his plan.
The Story: Williamson creates a thrilling, entertaining story in this issue. I love the dynamic between Tony and Rhodey and miss seeing them together. I liked the tension between them a lot and how James can navigate Tony’s personality. The action was fun within the story, but I was impressed with how Williamson is setting up AIM to be a bigger, ongoing threat and am interested in seeing where that part of the story goes next.
The Art: Randal crafts some great art throughout the issue. I love the character designs a lot and how the art has a crisp, almost industrial look to it that is perfect for these characters and this world.
