The Rundown: Lion-O returns to the Thundercats, but has to deal with a potential threat.

Cheetarah meets with Tygra as she goes over her concerns about her leadership of the Thundercats. Neither are aware that someone is coming to their location on a mission. When Lion-O returns to the team, they are excited as he tells them of his adventure, but he also tells them he has something and someone he needs to take care of before he can return as the Lord of the Thundercats.

Lion-O goes to the dungeon to confront Apex, the future version of himself, and show to him the remade and working Sword of Omens. As the two clash, Lion-O shows what he has learned before banishing Apex and stripping him of his power. When another familiar face returns to the group, Lion-O meets him with a violent greeting.

The Story: Shalvey crafts an engaging, compelling story in this issue. I love the way Lion-O’s return is handled and how his maturity is woven into his position with the group as well as the power he is taking. I really liked the showdown with Apex and how it allows Lion-O to prove his worthiness for the positon as well as the return of Jaga and what that means for the rest of the Thundercats.

The Art: Moss creates some beautifully detailed and visually stunning moments throughout the issue.
