The Rundown: Diana fights to free Zatarra as Cale unleashes a new threat.

Gateway City is on fire and under siege. Steve and his friends fight to bring survivors to safety while Diana continues her battle against Zatarra. She decides to use a dangerous weapon against him in order to find a way to free him from the curse he put on himself. At the same time, Cale continues to watch events unfold and decides that she wants Giganta to bring her Barbara Minerva.

Diana finds a way to reach Zatarra and forces him to face the trauma of his past until his daughter arrives to help. Unfortunately, her interference traps Diana in limbo and Cale sends a dangerous weapon to retrieve Zatarra and bring him back under her control.

The Story: Thompson continues to craft a thrilling, engaging story in this issue. I love the tension and suspense throughout as well as the intro moment between Circe and Aphrodite and what it means for Diana and her dynamic with the people she cares about. There are some wonderful dramatic layers to this story and everything builds to a great cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens with Diana as well as Barbara.

The Art: Sherman crafts beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the issue as well as the character designs and environments.
