The Rundown: Beast leads a team to find a missing mutant and discovers a bigger mystery.

Beast has been made field leader as he leads the team on a mission in Canada to track a cerebro ping that could be linked to a newly discovered mutant. After dealing with some unfriendly local police, the team goes deep into a gravitational anomaly to track the mutant signature.

Quentin manages to get a fix on the mutant and finds himself attacked mentally. An attack that will lead the group to the truth behind the mutant they are searching for, but will also get the attention of a potential threat in Department H.

The Story: MacKay crafts an entertaining and engaging story in this issue. I like the start of this new arc and the questions it is raising among members of the team as well as the mystery behind what they discover. It’s too early to give an opinion on the story so far, but it does create enough interest in both the main and side stories to engage me to see what happens next.

The Art: Tony S. Daniel creates some beautifully detailed and visually interesting art throughout the issue. I really like the visual style of the story and look forward to seeing what art comes next.
