The Rundown: The X-Men are the targets of a powerful new foe gathering a team of her own.

Maxine Danger from the Beyond Corporation is gathering a team of her own and she is starting with former SHIELD agents and others that have been imprisoned for crossing lines and taking lives. As she gathers these new recruits to interview, she gets assessments from them about the X-Men team lead by Cyclops.

At the same time, the team is fractured and separated with Psylocke and Kid Omega being attacked, Glob clinging to life and the rest of the team trapped in Maxine’s version of the Danger Room where this time they aren’t being trained, they are being targeted.

The Story: MacKay continues to take the team on a dark, dangerous journey and I continue to enjoy it. The story does a great job of building up the villain and the dangers the X-Men are facing while also ramping up the tension as the team faces a difficult challenge in how they handle this new threat. I’m excited to see where this story goes next.

The Art: Diaz delivers beautiful, detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue. I love the action scenes immensely and how they are cut with the interrogation room moments.
