The Rundown: The Outliers find themselves in a strange new reality while Rogue and her team meet some familiar faces.

Corina meets with Phillip as he is dying at Graymalkin. As he talks to her, he warns her that her plans are falling apart and that Inmate X will be coming for them all. In the past, the Outliers find themselves in their first danger room session and their new teammate Mutina continues to show them how dangerous she can be just before the mansion is attacked by a new type of Sentinel requiring the team to get some unexpected backup.
In the present, Rogue and the rest of her team are hunting everywhere for the missing kids when they discover that the kids have been replaced by the former New Mutants who claim to have been sent on a potentially deadly mission. At the same time, Gambit makes a deal with a former enemy to find the missing kids.
The Story: Simone continues to craft an amazing arc with these characters and every subplot has significance and weight. I love the opening scenes with Corina and Phillip and what it teases. I love the awkwardness of having Mutina on the team with the Outliers and I really love the surprises throughout the issue. Every reveal was something wild and unexpected and made the story more interesting with every page. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Vecchio creates some beautifully detailed and visually impressive moments throughout the issue. Everything from the battle scenes to the character moments looks great.
