The Rundown: A solitary man finds love with a mysterious woman and discovers a troubling truth.

Henry Wallanowski is the local taxidermist in the town of Willoughby. He lives a modest life alone dealing with the demands of his shop and his nagging mother who wants him to get out, live and find someone to love.

When a young woman named Lucy arrives at the shop to ask questions about her brother who was lost in a fire Henry helped put out as a volunteer firefighter, the two begin to talk and Henry takes a chance at a relationship. A chance that will reveal the dark truth behind Lucy, the town and the reason why Henry is alone.

The Story: Fleecs captures everything that I love about the Twilight Zone in this issue. The buildup of suspense, the interpersonal story and the final reveal are handled perfectly to capture a darkly human story which were some of my favorite from the original series. This is the kind of storytelling I have been wanting from this series and this issue does not disappoint. It’s beautifully cinematic and reminiscent of the original black and white series in all the best ways.

The Art: Price delivers stunning art throughout the issue. I love the character designs a lot and Henry has a striking resemblance to Jack Klugman who I remember starred in several episode of the original Twilight Zone series. I also love the visual contrast between the first few pages and the final reveal.
