The Rundown: Miller and Raad have been taken by the Romulans as they meet with the Klingons.

Miller and Raad are the only remaining members of the away team and are taken aboard the Romulan ship as it and the Klingons are in a standoff in orbit around Arkonia 89. Battered and almost broken, the two humans and the data the Romulans were after are confronted by the Klingons and the two groups negotiate sharing the data as Raad objects and challenges the Romulan commander to a fight.
As Miller looks on, he thinks back to the mission that almost killed him and the surprise rescue he received. A rescue that will lead to a betrayal as one of the survivors is killed by the other and the one that remains continues their clandestine career for the Romulans and is rescued by a familiar Federation ship.
The Story: I wanted to be impressed with the twist revealed in this issue, but its execution fell flat given everything that came before it in this series. Cantwell writes an entertaining story, but this reveal just doesn’t have the emotional weight it was trying to give. Either the clues the reader was meant to uncover were not present in the story or its final reveal was rushed to bring the story to a conclusion. Either way, the series had some great build up, but its promise fizzled out at the end.
The Art: Levens delivers some great art throughout the issue. I really love the visual style and how it captures the look and feel of Star Trek.
