The Rundown: The theft of a powerful artifact brings Batman and Wonder Woman into a mystery.

Wonder Woman has traveled to Gotham City to meet with Batman and be present for an exhibit funded by Bruce Wayne to showcase the lasso of truth. When the lights go out, both realize the lasso has been stolen and Batman tracks down Catwoman after revealing that he asked her to do it as a test.
Unfortunately, the pair discover too late that the lasso has been stolen by Harley Quinn. Batman, Wonder Woman and Catwoman find its location, but their attempt to retrieve the lasso is hampered by the Joker who has his own plans for the powerful artifact.
The Story: Loeb crafts a story with some promise in its exploration of Bruce and Diana’s relationship as well as Bruce’s relationship with Selina. Unfortunately, all of those more interesting dynamics are shoved into a nonsensical story involving Harley Quinn and Joker that doesn’t serve anything and is often goofy and not in a good way. Their presence in the story was disappointing and a distraction from bigger, more interesting ideas.
The Art: Cheung crafts some great visuals throughout the issue. I really like the visual style, but the Joker looked unnecessarily cartoonish.
