The Rundown: Selena Kyle gets an unexpected visit from an old friend that blows apart her plans.

Selena is ready to put her life as Catwoman behind her and finally enjoy the fruits of her labor. As she thinks back on her life and her journey from Gotham City slums to a high-rise apartment in London, she is reminded of the fact that it is her birthday. She also receives an unexpected visit from an old friend.

Her friend Holly manages to find a way back into her life and comes bearing a gift that will make her the target of a gang of thieves and killers using her persona. Selena must fight to find her friend and rescue her while also uncovering the mystery of the gift she was given.

The Story: Snyder and Grayson craft a thrilling adventure in this first issue. There is some great setup both in premise and character throughout the issue and Selena is an interesting and complicated character on her own. The story sets up an interesting mystery with a personal twist while also having great action and adventure. I really loved the character reveal at the end of the issue and look forward to seeing what comes next.

The Art: Bengal creates some beautifully detailed and visually exciting art throughout the issue and Niro enhances that art with vibrant, brilliant color.
