The Rundown: Hellboy and company find themselves in the presence of an ancient evil.
Hellboy, the Professor and their new friend Scarlett make their way through the jungle to the hidden temple that might hold the key to getting them off the island. What they don’t know is that the vampire queen Vesperra has been resurrected and laid claim to the temple with her sights set on ruling the rest of the world.
Scarlett discovers a deeper connection to the island and its history when the party makes it to the temple ruins. After discovering the story of Vesperra and how she became trapped on the island, Hellboy discovers a hidden entrance and immediately runs into trouble. Trouble in the form of Vesperra and her new army of creatures.
The Story: The spirit of adventure and excitement continues in this story. The characters continue to be interesting and the plot engaging as the stakes rise for everyone involved. I love the fun spirit of this story and its dialogue. There are some great moments throughout and the story itself is very engaging. A great, fun read that makes me clamor for the finale.
The Art: Rosseau does great work with the art. The look of the characters and the world are perfectly matched with the tone and the characters.
