The Rundown: A true crime writer is trying to do something new, but his new art is starting to imitate life.

Seth Holms is a true crime writer who is trying to convert to fiction, but finds himself stuck on his latest book. At the same time, the grisly sequences he is adding to his latest novel are starting to happen in real life and Seth has no idea.
As Seth ducks his agent’s calls for information on his new book, a killer stalks the city killing people in more elaborate and violent ways. Ways that connect to the writer’s new work and possibly the writer himself.
The Story: Boss crafts an interesting and entertaining story in this first issue. The story has some great moments of mystery along with scenes of brutality that make you guess if they’re real right up to the end of the issue. There is a great slow burn of revelations throughout the story and the issue does a great job of establishing the world and making you care about the characters.
The Art: Turtulici delivers some beautifully stylish art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the issue and how perfectly it captures the tone and mood of certain scenes.
