The Rundown: Klaus continues to live it up in Hollywood, but his past is starting to catch up with him.
Klaus has found a soft place to land in the home of an aging actress looking to make a comeback. After showing her and her guests some of his special brand of party tricks, Vivian decides that Klaus might be useful in ways she never imagined. The only thing she needs to do is keep him safe, happy and high while he works through his own internal issues with his past and his father.
At the same time, Shivers and his men arrive in town looking for the wayward Klaus and the vampire finds himself landing in the lap of a new opportunity. One that will require him to bring in some additional help.
The Story: Way and Simon continue to craft an interesting story for Klaus that is layered in its presentation. I like how the story deals with Klaus’ internal conflicts as well as the real world dangers he’s facing. This issue is more setup than execution as it continues to move its players into position, but it is a good read for its character development and charm.
The Art: Culbard does a great job with the art. There is a light quality to it that draws in the reader as its darker elements continue to grow and evolve.
