The Rundown: Two stories explore the aftermath of Xavier and the Krakoan Era.

In the wake of the fall of Krakoa, Scott Summers and Jean Grey get away from everything to spend some time together before Jean leaves for the stars to find a purpose with the Phoenix Force. As they vacation, a dark echo from the past takes control of people in the area forcing them to climb a snow covered summit in search of someone and Cyclops becomes one of its unwitting victims.

In the second story, a reporter is given an assignment to look into Charles Xavier and his actions during the downfall of Krakoa and the Sentinel incident. As she dives into the story, her personal demons become an issue. She also finds that the people she’s interviewing are acting strange as well and her investigation will uncover a secret that could change everything she and the others know about Charles Xavier and the people he confessed to killing.

The Story: Paknadel crafts some interesting and entertaining stories in this issue. Both stories have relevance to the bigger stories of the mutants, but I was hoping that they connected with each other. Both stories are fine on their own, but the second story was the most interesting and engaging and the first one with Scott and Jean could have been shorter to make room to explore the Xavier investigation more. That story was the one I wanted more of and became immersed in. It had a great reveal at the end and interesting clues sprinkled throughout it.

The Art: Neves delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. Both stories have great visuals and an unique visual style to them that matches their narrative tones.
