The Rundown: Polaris deals with her doubts about being part of the team as the mutant nation’s biggest secret might be revealed.

The X-Men move into Mexico to stop a group of Reavers from causing trouble. Unfortunately, they haven’t realized that the Reavers have gotten an upgrade and part of that upgrade includes darts that disrupt mutant powers. With most of the team down, Polaris steps in to try to stop the Reavers and save her team. After Polaris and Rogue help contain a potential nuclear disaster, she recalls her admittance to the team as well as some of the other missions she’s been on.

Back in the present, the Reavers find themselves vastly underestimating Lorna’s powers and paying the price for that. In the aftermath, the X-Men return to New York and attempt to give back to the community with a feast at their headquarters. In the midst of the mutants giving back, Ben Urich pulls Scott to the side to reveal that he knows Krakoa’s biggest secret, and he is prepared to share it with the world.

The Story: I liked a lot of this issue. There are some fun interactions between the characters. The character relationships and team dynamics are strong and interesting. Everything with Scott and Urich continues to be compelling and entertaining. Even the moments with Lorna and her doubt are interesting. Unfortunately, the story feels all over the place most of the time and that makes it hard to appreciate those character moments because you’re trying to determine when and where this particular moment is happening.

The Art: Pina and Carlos deliver some impressive and fun visuals throughout the issue. The art is stellar and the action is thrilling throughout.
