The Rundown: To stop Orchis, the X-Men need something from the High Evolutionary.
Synch remembers his time in the Vault with Talon while Cyclops continues to deal with his upcoming trial in Paris. A trial where the verdict has already been established. When a friend suggests how the mutants can rescue the human hostages Orchis has infected, Synch decides to pay a visit to the High Evolutionary to get what they need.
At the same time, Iron Man meets with a spy within Orchis to reveal the next part of their plan, but their undercover agent might have another agenda. Synch and Talon’s mission to steal from the High Evolutionary takes a tragic and unexpected turn.
The Story: Duggan continues to craft an entertaining and engaging story in this issue. I wanted to see the Synch and Talon storyline revisited and this one had not only a dark tone but led to an even darker ending that I want to see resolved. Scott’s story is also compelling and has some great moments for the character. I like the inclusion of Spider-Man and look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Noto delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and how it can create great character moments and emotions as well as awesome action and visual thrills.
