The Rundown: Cyclops deals with some tension with humans while a trike team infiltrates their base.

As Cyclops heads into town, a well-armed strike team infiltrates the X-Men’s new base while Magneto finds himself confronting Temper who is still angry about her treatment on Krakoa. At the same time, Scott finds himself sitting opposite Lundqvist to discuss the team’s recent mission in San Francisco.

As the rest of the X-Men find themselves confronting the small strike team attempting to destroy something in their base that the mutants need to find each other, Scott is having his own battle with words against someone who is partially responsible for what happened to him in custody.

The Story: I really enjoyed this story for multiple reasons. MacKay does a great job of blending human drama and intense action. I enjoyed the tension throughout the story and how both sides of the story conveyed different types of tension both in Scott’s conversation and the hunt for the enemies in their base. I really liked the build up of suspense throughout the story and how it delivers some great action and thrills. I also really enjoyed the ending and how it humanizes Cyclops in an interesting way.

The Art: Stegman delivers beautifully detailed and intense art throughout the issue. It beautifully captures the tension of the story and how both sides of it are dramatic in their own ways.
