The Rundown: Krakoa sends a small team into the Vault for surveillance purposes.
A small team of mutants enters the Vault to learn everything they can about the new threat the Children of the Vault pose to Krakoa. The team marvels at the expanse of the world before going deeper to find answers. Unfortunately, the force behind the Vault sense their presence and sends its children to find the mutants and end their threat.
As the team moves closer to the source of the Vault’s power, the Children move into intercept them and the resulting fight reveals something interesting about one of the team. Something that could change the nature of mutant resurrection.
The Story: Hickman is introducing some interesting elements into this story with Synch and the rest of the team and it makes the bigger story more interesting. The narration is definitely one of the best parts of the story as it does a great job of showcasing the bigger picture for the island and the characters. This is a really well done story that engages the reader as well as entertains with its characters and plot.
The Art: Asrar delivers some awesome art throughout this issue. The characters look great and there is some great action to be found. A great looking issue from start to finish.
