The Rundown: Forge’s mission inside the Cradle will have some unexpected
Forge has infiltrated the Vault and has discovered that the Children of the Vault have not only captured Darwin, but also the older version of Laura Kinney. Unable to find Darwin, Forge discusses what he should do next with the Caliban tech he has infused into his suit. Unfortunately, his conversation will be cut short when he is confronted by Serafina who gives the mutant a momentary reprieve after learning the truth about why he has invaded the Vault and what he is looking for.
In the aftermath of his encounter, he finds himself in a paradise where he discovers what happened to Darwin. Forge makes a decision to leave the Vault with Laura and their escape will require calling in Synch to learn the truth.
The Story: Entertaining and filled with great tension, Duggan tells an engaging story with some great philosophical themes and questions that I am interested in seeing explored. The story has some great action and I continue to enjoy seeing the evolution of this arc as well as how it will affect the rest of the characters.
The Art: Cassara delivers some beautifully detailed imagery throughout the issue. The visuals are thrilling and engaging.
