The Rundown: The X-Men go on a search and rescue mission that reveals something powerful and dangerous about Idie’s new friend.

The local police chief makes a trip to the factory to ask for Cyclops’ help in finding the daughter of an anti-mutant activist. A young girl who came to them for help thinking she’s a mutant. As the X-Men spring into action, they don’t realize that someone else is watching them as they search the skies. Someone who wants to test the mutants.

When an old enemy’s new minion makes an attack on the Marauder, the ship goes down and Kid Omega along with it. As the team breaks off to find Quentin alive or dead, Temper finds the little girl they’ve been searching for as well as a dark secret she’s been hiding from the world without her knowledge.

The Story: MacKay crafts a thrilling adventure in this issue. There’s some great, intense moments between the characters and I loved the immediacy of the pacing. The story has a great tone and I really enjoyed the mystery being revealed in the background. The side story with Ben is getting interesting as well and the dynamic between him and Magneto has intrigued me. I really liked the buildup of suspense throughout the issue and look forward to seeing what happens next.

The Art: Stegman delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. I love the visual style of the issue and the character designs. The action was visually thrilling and I loved the composition of the character moments.
