The Rundown: Wolverine infiltrates the Orchis facility while Rogue continues her hunt for Gamesworld.
With the help of Forge, the team has a new way of getting information about the Orchis facility in space. Back at the treehouse, the team looks at the information and discovers that there is an adamantium signature in the facility. Fearing that the organization has another one of her siblings locked up, Laura decides to suit up and infiltrate the facility to find out what’s going on.
After infiltrating the base, Wolverine discovers that the signature they discovered is not another sibling, but someone a lot more dangerous. At the same time, Rogue’s investigation in Gamesworld gets an unlikely clue from Destiny. A clue that will lead her and Gambit to contacting a familiar face who might have the information they need.
The Story: Duggan creates an entertaining and tension filled story in this issue. The back and forth between the mutants and Orchis continues to be compelling and centering the story on Laura makes it more interesting. Both sides of the story have great character moments with Laura’s story being filled with great action and adventure, but also Rogue’s side story having great moments with both Destiny and her deep space contact. That moment had some great comedy that makes me interested in reading more.
The Art: Pina delivers some fantastic visuals in the issue with great character design, scope and wonder. The art is beautifully detailed and the action is thrilling.
