The Rundown: Kid Omega is looking for a new lease on life, but his constant deaths might be a bigger problem than he knows.
Kid Omega has a hard time not dying. With his missions for X-Force, he tends to find himself being resurrected after being killed and he’s starting to get tired of it. His relationship with Phoebe Cuckoo is something that is giving him a reason to keep living and he is determined to make some changes.
Unfortunately, a recent trip to a cruise ship too close to Krakoa is the beginning of a dark conspiracy that Omega might be at the middle of. After being resurrected again, he and Phoebe decide to investigate what looks like a psionic attack on the survivors with his signature. Omega and Phoebe decide to take a break and wind up in more trouble than they realized.
The Story: Percy crafts a fun and intriguing story for Kid Omega in this issue. The character is given a chance to grow and evolve and his journey both from his youth to his many deaths is engaging to the reader. I found myself both entertained by the humor in the story as well as connected to the character and his struggles.
The Art: Joshua Cassara delivers some beautiful art in this issue. With the story being character focused, Cassara does a great job of making character moments have a sense of intimacy.
