The Rundown: The symbol of Doom will bring Cheetah closer to her ultimate goal.
Around the world from Themyscira to Maine, the symbol of Doom flies high in the sky and everyone starts to turn to it. With Cheetah triumphant, Diana is forced to admit that her long time enemy has won. It’s a humbling moment and one that Diana uses to put Cheetah’s desires into perspective.
At the same time, Atlantiades sees the symbol of Doom and realizes that she needs to find Steve Trevor if there is any way to save Diana and bring back love. The demigod will discover that the worse blow to Diana was leaving her alone when she needed them the most. With Steve in tow, Atlantiades will transcend to a new form in order to help Diana save the day. But it might already too late.
The Story: G Willow Wilson brings the Loveless storyline home in this issue. Everything from the plot to the character moments work. Diana’s battle with Cheetah is done brilliantly to be both a moral and physical victory for the character and I enjoy how this issue ties into the Justice/Doom War. The end of the issue also teases an interesting story arc to come.
The Art: Tom Derenick brings some beautiful art to this issue. Everything from the characters to the background details are great. I loved all of the fight scenes between Diana and Cheetah.
