The Rundown: Diana faces off against Janus in a void and finds some unexpected help.
After chasing Janus with the dying Deadman, the trio end up in the void Diana would return to after every death in Asgard. With Deadman truly living up to his name, Diana faces the killer god seemingly alone until her friends arrive to help her. Not knowing how to save Deadman, the mysterious new lasso she carries gives her the answer and the hero returns to tell them that they are all stuck in his world without form or substance.
While Janus continues to fight, Diana discovers the truth about her other half and the part he played in her escape. Another unexpected visitor to the void challenges Janus with a power she cannot best and the fate of the killer is revealed while Diana makes a decision about her future.
The Story: Cloonan and Conrad bring this arc to a satisfying ending. I enjoyed the use of mythology throughout and the depth of the plotting. There are several moments of intrigue throughout and Diana’s action offer a different and welcome take on dealing with her enemy. The story is engaging and crafts a clever and compelling continuation of Diana’s story.
The Art: Travis Moore delivers some exciting visuals and the lack of detail in the backgrounds does a great job of emphasizing the characters.
