The Rundown: Diana must team with one of her greatest enemies to take down a villain with ties to both.
The condition that has people living out dangerous delusions continues to spread and Wonder Woman is alone in trying to stop the people lashing out without hurting them. As she continues to be spread thin by constant incidents, she and Etta decide that the only way they can hope to stop these attacks is by enlisting Maxwell Lord to help them.
Even after discovering that Max is not responsible for the attacks, Diana continues to be suspicious. Max will reveal what has led him to change and help her. Unfortunately, their first foray into helping goes a little rough. Things get worse when Liar Liar decides to finally make her presence known.
The Story: The theme of lies is the perfect one for a character whose mission is to embody and spread truth. Mariko Tamaki crafts a great issue that was enjoyable to read. The dialogue was great. The moments between Diana and Max are solid. Max’s revelations are an awesome way to connect this story to the last event. What makes it more interesting is the fact that the reader is as much in the dark as Diana about Max’s motives. It gives the writing and those moments added tension. Liar Liar as a character is hit or miss at times, but she is overall interesting enough to invest in. A really good story that continues to engage the reader in both its story and its characters.
The Art: Carlo Barberi does some great work with the art in this issue. Not only does the art look fantastic, but Barberi captures the energy and power of Wonder Woman brilliantly. The action is fantastic as well. There are great shots throughout and the panels are filled with detail. A great looking issue.
