The Rundown: Diana’s trials have seemingly come to an end as a new day dawns for the Amazon and her people. Unfortunately, a new threat will emerge that will draw first blood.
Diana is finally home and able to spend time with her mother. It is a reunion a long time coming and with everything else is Diana’s life, it will end too briefly. With a new way to travel back and forth to Themyscira created, Diana is free to travel back and forth at her whim. With a new world of choices open to her and her friends, Maggie decides to stay and learn more about the sword she wields while Atlantiades returns to fix the town she almost destroyed and reconcile with her mother.
Diana and Steve reunite and Atlantiades has a reckoning with Aphrodite. As Diana finds a way to make amends with a current enemy, an old one descends on Wonder Woman’s home and uses the dark gift she received to kill an immortal.
The Story: G Willow Wilson does an amazing job of bringing the reader through a journey filled with love, forgiveness, understanding and hope just to emotionally gut punch you with a brilliantly executed and tension filled conclusion. Love the way this story unfolded and all of the dark, unknown places it looks like its going next.
The Art: Lee Garbett offers some beautiful art in this issue. The characters were a high point in the design of the issue and the final pages were brilliantly dark and menacing.
