The Rundown: As the Sovereign gathers his forces, Diana challenges her allies to stand down.
With Diana defeating everything and everyone the Sovereign has thrown her way, he decides to change tactics and use Mr. Steel to recruit Wonder Woman’s deadliest foes from Giganta to Circe to Doctor Psycho and more.
At the same time, Diana meets with Yara, Donna and Cassie to convince them to stand down and let her fight alone. A meeting that will require a challenge for each warrior to hold them to their word. Challenges that will have unexpected consequences for Wonder Woman.
The Story: King crafts an entertaining and suspense filled story in this issue. The suspense comes from the gathering of some of Diana’s greatest foes as well as her fighting against those who want to help her. There is some great drama in the issue as well as a wonderful message about the influence of the character on not only the people who love her, but the ones who don’t.
The Art: Sampere delivers fantastic art throughout the issue. I love the wonderfully detailed characters and how visually immersive and compelling the imagery is on every page.
