The Rundown: Diana stands alone against the might of the military.
Diana finds herself standing alone on a field facing Steve Trevor. After being warned that they have order to bring her down, Diana refuses to leave the field.
Facing the might of the US military, Diana prepares for battle. A battle that will show how powerful and determined Wonder Woman really is.
The Story: There is an absolutely brilliant line in the beginning of this issue about men crashing on the rocks to learn they’re made of water that hit me hard and I loved both the context of it and the artistic way it’s presented. The issue does a brilliant job of showcasing how powerful Diana is both as a warrior and as a force of nature. Putting her and Steve on opposite sides of the conflict was an interesting dramatic choice as well and the final moments of the issue make me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Sampere delivers some beautifully detailed and dramatic art throughout the issue. There are some beautiful moments that showcase the power and beauty of the character and I love the visual contrast between the past and the present.
