The Rundown: Logan must track down an old friend to get a new sword forged for the upcoming war, but he is not the only one looking.
The chosen ones have been revealed and Logan is one of them. While the man known as Wolverine contemplates his life before Krakoa, he speaks to the island itself and pledges to defend it. In order to do that he will need a new sword forged by Muramasa and will embark on his quest to retrieve it. Unfortunately, he is not the only one.
Solem, an unrepentant killer and enemy of even War herself, has been given the opportunity to fight and to do so he will need the sword of Muramasa himself. While Logan goes to his old contacts friend and foe alike to seek answers, he discovers the last known location os the man and that the Hand is hunting for the swordsmith as well.
The Story: Benjamin Percy begins a journey for Logan that takes him back to some of the best aspects of his solo adventures. Even with the bigger story taking shape around the character, Percy allows for introspection in this issue and that is appreciated as a reader. The story evolves organically with interpersonal conflicts emerging on both sides and I can’t wait to see how the first meeting between these two characters goes.
The Art: Viktor Bogdanovic brings everything together with some beautifully rendered art. The Wolverine/Silver Samurai fight, the Solem reveal and Logan’s journey to find Muramasa are brilliantly drawn.
