The Rundown: Sara faces off against a demon army and someone she cares for goes down.

Going off a tip from Jackie Estacado, Sara meets with a powerful crime boss at a fancy restaurant and sees several of the corrupt big wigs she hasn’t been able to take down. After meeting with Mr. Smith, he offers to help her because he not only knows what’s coming, but that she has the witchblade. After giving her something that can help, she calls Jackie right before being attacked.
As Sara fights off the assassin that was in her apartment, she and Ian decide to use the item she received to take the fight to the demon’s lair. As she says goodbye to her friends, she enters the shrine and begins an epic battle against a small army of demonic forces. Unfortunately, someone she didn’t count on arrives to help and becomes a victim of her personal war.
The Story: Bennett delivers a thrilling, dark and engaging story in this issue. Bennett does a fantastic job of building tension throughout the story and with the characters. The buildup is great and everything leads to a suspense filled standoff with the demons that had me excited when Sara finally began to fight. I had an inkling of what was going to happen next, but I was pleasantly surprised by the reveal towards the end and what it means for the character and the story going forward.
The Art: Cafaro delivers awesome art throughout the issue. I love the visual style and the wonderful visual details throughout the pages and panels.
