The Rundown: Detective Sara Pezzini will be exposed to a new and dangerous power.
In Germany, a man named Irons has located a device that he has been hunting for. A device he knows he cannot possess himself, but will send a woman in to retrieve. Unfortunately, the woman finds herself consumed by the power of the device and a chase ensues that will bring Irons and the device across the ocean.
Detective Sara Pezzini works a human trafficking case that will bring her to a warehouse where she will be forced to make a decision to keep her undercover persona. A decision that will bring her into the possession of a dangerous power and the attention of an agent of Irons who is hunting her.
The Story: As a fan of the original Witchblade series, I was hesitant to jump back into a new series with the same characters. Bennett delivers a great first issue filled with action, thrills and a rich story that grabbed me. I like the mystery in this issue and how interesting the characters are as well as the immediacy of the plot. I look forward to this series and what twists and turns the story will take.
The Art: Cafaro delivers beautifully detailed and stylish art throughout the issue. The visuals are incredibly well done and perfectly capture the dark tone of the action.
