The Rundown: The survivors discover what the aliens are doing on the island.
Roddy and Flo get a last minute rescue from Bernadette as the newspaper office is destroyed by the aliens. At the same time, the Captain tries to rescue and revive his grandson Eddie as the rest of the townspeople willingly walk away with the aliens.
After regrouping at the lighthouse, Bernie explains some of what happened while the crew was at sea and how the aliens are controlling the locals. After deciding to get more information, the group discovers what the aliens are building and are determined to find a way to fight back.
The Story: Abnett continues to craft an engaging and entertaining alien invasion tale in this issue. Even with the War of the Worlds aesthetic in place, the story is brilliantly unique and engaging because of the characters and their conflicts. I continue to love the world of this story and its characters. A truly unique and immersive experience.
The Art: Culbard delivers some beautiful art throughout the issue. The character designs, the visual style and emotions work perfectly for both the story and its tone.
