The Rundown: Yelena discovers the truth behind Armament and is given an intriguing proposal.
In the wake of taking out multiple enhanced assassins, Yelena finds the headquarters of Armament and is confronted by its mysterious leader Renata who explains the business behind her new venture. A venture that will make Yelena obsolete unless she decides to join them.
Yelena is taken to the final phase of Renata’s grand plan and must decide what her future will be and what she ultimately believes in.
The Story: Gailey creates some great moments for Yelena in a story that is filled with great action and humor. I really enjoy the tone of this series and how it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Localizing Yelena’s story gives the reader better insight into who she is as a character while also giving her more interesting and personal stakes to overcome. It would be cool to see this become an ongoing series.
The Art: Miracolo delivers impressive and wonderfully detailed art in the issue. The visuals have a lively spirit that matches the tone of the story perfectly.
