The Rundown: Residents of a gated community could find their lives upended when their secret potentially gets out.
The gated community of Wilmhurst is rocked when a group of boys run from one of the houses to the neighbor. The older woman of the house Zel wants to know what happened and when she finds out, she and the rest of the neighbors proceed to murder the boys one by one. What they don’t know is that one of them has escaped.
In the aftermath, the citizens of Wilmhurst meet with Zel to discuss the potential danger one of them put the community in by killing in their community of serial killers. As they deal with the banality of community life, their escaped victim could be bringing trouble back with him.
The Story: A fun, engaging and entertaining story with some great twists and interesting characters. Starks crafts a premise that immediately got my attention and held my interest throughout the issue. The world of these characters is unique and I have to see what happens next after the cliffhanger at the end of this issue.
The Art: Kowalski has a wonderfully unique and visually thrilling art style that drew me in and kept me invested in the world and these characters.
