The Rundown: Natasha enlists the help of an old enemy to continue her mission.
Trying to clean up the sins of her past, Natasha has found a new target. Unfortunately, she needs help to break into a high security office building to steal the data she needs. That help will come in the form of Yelena Bolova.
After recruiting her fellow Black Widow, they pair enter the building only to find that they have bigger problems on their hands than s simple theft.
The Story: After previous issues that managed to balance Natasha’s past with her present, this issue felt a little slow in both its pace and plotting. It picks up at the end and concludes in a satisfactory way with a reveal from Nat that is clever, but everything leading up to it was stilted and formulaic. I never got a true sense of the conflict between Natasha and Yelena and it took too long to get to anything meaningful.
The Art: Stephen Moody’s art is really good. There are some great shots throughout the issue and there is an impressive use of shadow that complements the tone of the story.
